The specially designed workshops will help give you a solid start towards your educational goals. On Jan. 18, Clark College will welcome social activist Kathleen D. Saadat, interim Diversity Development/Affirmative Action Manager for the Human Resources Bureau of the City of Portland. Saadat will speak at 11:00a.m. in Gaiser Student Center.

On Jan. 19, the focus will turn to service. Community members are invited to join Clark volunteers from 1:30-5:00 p.m. serving at the Clark County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver.

Volunteers are invited to meet outside the Penguin Student Lounge in the Penguin Union Building at 1:30p.m. Vans will transport volunteers to and from Habitat ReStore, where they will help with sorting and organizing merchandise, creating new displays, pricing and stocking donations, and other tasks. Volunteers will return to the college at 5:00p.m.

Eligibility deadlines for fall quarter 2012 entry will be explained. This meeting is the first of two optional and identical Information Nights. Do not attend both. The second one is Jan. 26, same time, same place, same information.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 11 a.m. in the Gaiser Student Center on the college‘s main campus. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Presentation by Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to recruit students for the 2012 High Voltage Electrical Apprentice Program. All students are invited to attend, especially those who are considering or who are enrolled in the Power Utilities program or an electrical engineering program.
