Please stop by Wednesday, April 17th to use our computers, check out books, and visit with library staff. Be a part of our ’day in the life of libraries“ and help to tell the story of the impact of libraries on Clark College. Cannell Library is open from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm and the Information Commons at CTC is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

This year we‘re doing something a little different. Several members of the Clark community will be featured on a Clark College Library READ poster. We‘ll reveal a different READ poster every half hour in the commons area of Cannell Library, at the Information Commons and on our Facebook page between 10 am and 2 pm.

Snapshot Day is a project of Clark College Libraries, the Washington Library and Media Directors‘ Council, and American Library Association (ALA).

This year's Sakura Festival marks the 18th anniversary of the international friendship between the City of Vancouver and its Sister City, Joyo, Japan as well as the 22nd anniversary of the gift of 100 cherry trees from John Kageyama to the City of Vancouver. The formal ceremony and garden dedication will take place from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. by the Japanese Garden, in front of the Music Building on Main Campus.
Following the formal ceremony demonstrations and activities of many Japanese traditions will be held in Gaiser, Student Center from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

**In the event of inclement weather the ceremony will be held in Gaiser Student Center

The college‘s Crisis Intervention Management Team (CIMT) was created in 2012 to support emergency mental health needs following a significant incident at the college such as a major fire, earthquake or active shooter event. The concept of providing a team of trained people to deliver ’psychological first aid“ in traumatic circumstances is considered a best practice in emergency management, and was required by the college‘s federal Emergency Management in Higher Education grant.

Da del Nio/Da del Libro celebrates children and reading. In a special reading area, student volunteers will read bilingual books to children. Each youngster will be able to make their own book, have their face painted, and get their picture taken with Oswald, Clark's penguin mascot. There will also be interactive entertainment such as reading, dancing, and singing. Snacks will be provided as well. The event is free and open to the public.
