Mental Health Monday :Families and Addiction

You don't have to drink to suffer from alcoholism or other addictions. Families often suffer and sometimes unwittingly enable someones addiction. Learn about the impact on families and family contributions to addiction problems. Marcia Roi, professor of Clark's addictions counseling program will present interesting and important information for families on the subject of addictions.

From Far Out to Mainstream: Lifecycle of the Psychedelic Rock Posters, 1965-73

It was the signature art form of the 1960s. Psychedelic posters decorated college dorm rooms, homes and offices across the United States and around the world. On Thursday, Nov. 12, Clark College will launch its 2009-2010 Faculty Speaker Series with “From Far Out to Mainstream: Lifecycle of the Psychedelic Rock Posters, 1965-73.” Dr. Sally Tomlinson, professor of art at Clark College, will lead the discussion. The Faculty Speaker Series event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Penguin Student Lounge, located in Clark’s Penguin Union Building.

Come join the Student Life Office as we present Max Rameau on November 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Gaiser Student Center. Max Rameau is a Haitian-born Pan-African theorist and organizer. He moved to Miami, Florida in 1991 and began organizing for Haitian immigrants, criminal justice issues and police brutality. Max founded the land-based organization Take Back the Land in 2006, and authored the book in 2008 recounting the experiences of the Umoja Village. Housing is a human right! Land for people, not for profit!
