Dr. Darcy L. Rourk is Clark’s
new associate vice president of human resources
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Dr. Darcy L. Rourk, SPHR, an education professional with experience as a faculty member and administrator, is the new associate vice president of human resources at Clark College.
Prior to joining Clark, Rourk served as assistant superintendent in the Northwest
Regional Educational Service District (ESD) in Hillsboro, Ore. She also served as
assistant superintendent in the Canby, Ore. School District and superintendent in
the Ninety One School District in Hubbard, Ore. She was a teacher and administrator
in the Manhattan-Ogden School District in Manhattan, Kan.
A native of Kansas, Rourk attended Kansas State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and a Ph.D. in educational administration.
Rourk has served as an adjunct faculty member at institutions including Concordia University, Kansas State University, Clackamas Community College, and the Institute for the Development of Educational Activities, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio.
In addition to being licensed as a Standard Administrator and Standard Superintendent
in Oregon, Rourk is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
Following her appointment by Governor John Kitzhaber, Rourk served on Oregon’s Quality
Education Commission from 2000–2002. She has also served as president of the United
Way Board of Directors in Manhattan, Kan. and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate
(CASA) in Vancouver, Wash.
The Human Resources department at Clark College supports the college mission through
