the Regional High School VICA/Skills USA Machining and Welding Contest
VANCOUVER, Wash. – On Saturday, January 27, the torch will be passed to the next generation of welders and machinists as Clark College hosts the Regional High School VICA/Skills USA Machining and Welding Contest. This is the 30th consecutive year that Clark has hosted the event. Clark College is located at 1800 E. McLoughlin Blvd, Vancouver.
Clark College interim president Bob Knight noted that "Clark’s machining and welding programs serve local high school students, members of our workforce who want to enhance their skills or learn new ones, and the business community as a whole. We are proud to provide first-class facilities for this competition. I hope that people in our community will take advantage of this great opportunity to see some of the best young machinists and welders in our area take part in this great competition.”
Five local high schools – Evergreen, La Center, Mountain View, Prairie and Washougal -- will be represented in the machining contest, which will begin at 9 a.m. It will be held in the machine shop in Building AA5, room 109.
