A NEW ADDRESS FOR CLARK COLLEGE
CELEBRATES THE COLLEGE’S HISTORY
Effective February 1, 2007, the main address for Clark College is 1933 Fort Vancouver Way
VANCOUVER, Wash. – To better serve students and visitors and to honor its history, Clark College is changing its main address from 1800 E. McLoughlin Blvd. to 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.
Clark College Interim President Bob Knight explained the reasoning for the change. “For many years, it made sense to use 1800 E. McLoughlin Blvd. as our main address since admissions, registration and other student services were housed in the Baird Administration Building,” said Knight. “But with those services now in Gaiser Hall, which is undergoing a major renovation to enhance student services, and with our new Welcome Center in the Penguin Student Union -- it makes sense to move our ‘front door’ to the place that truly welcomes our students and our visitors.”
Knight formally announced the address change during his 2007 State of the College Address on Jan. 31. He thanked Bruce Gateley of the Clark College Alumni Association for his suggestion of the 1933 address as a tribute to the year that the college was founded.
Clark College worked with the City of Vancouver and the U.S. Postal Service to complete the changeover process. Because 1800 E. McLoughlin Blvd. will continue to be a valid address for the college, the Postal Service will ensure that any mail that is sent to 1800 E. McLoughlin Blvd. will continue to be delivered to the college. The college zip code -- 98663-3598 – is unchanged.
