STUDENT ART TAKES CENTER STAGE AT ARCHER GALLERY

Clark College and the Clark College Art Department are presenting a juried exhibition of student work in the college’s Archer Gallery.

The traditional end-of-year exhibition, commonly known as the Art Student Annual, highlights the art program of the college and the work of its students during the 2006-2007 academic year.

Featuring an estimated 100-120 works by students, the juried exhibit presents works of sculpture, painting, drawing, jewelry, ceramics, typography, photography and more.   The 2007 Art Student Annual is taking place from May 9 through June 5.

For the second consecutive year, the show’s opening was celebrated in conjunction with the unveiling of the 2007 edition of Phoenix, Clark College’s art and literary magazine; the show also features works appearing in this year’s publication.

“Archer Gallery is thrilled to partner with the Clark College Art Department to celebrate the creativity of our students,” said Marjorie Hirsch, gallery director. “This exhibit is an exciting, vibrant presentation, and I encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy the work of our students.”

Gallery hours during the show are: Tuesday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
