Nancy sought out the international education field upon graduating from college - and has been working in it enthusiastically ever since.  Prior to joining Clark, Nancy wrote The Handbook of International Student Advising, third edition, and worked at three institutions including New York University where she served as the Associate Director of the Office of International Students and Scholars.  Nancy is a lifelong student and enjoys learning from international students.  Her formal studies include two Master's degrees, the most recent being in Intercultural Relations.  Nancy studied abroad in Spain and received a short-term Fulbright to Japan.  Nancy is committed to helping students learn to navigate U.S. culture, advocating for reasonable immigration regulations, and providing support and training to enhance intercultural relations.

Nguyen is a transplant from Vietnam.  He came to Portland in 2008 and later attended Portland State University.  He is a recent addition to the Office of International Programs at Clark College, but not new with working with international students.  In the past, he has worked with international admissions, study abroad and advising.  He enjoys working with students from all over the world as well as living in the Pacific Northwest for what it has to offer: mellow residents with their "green mind", and beautiful nature.  He has traveled to several countries in Asia but has yet to make it to Europe.  Please come to GHL 215 to see him if you need any assistance, or just want to say 'hi'.

Joseph attended Portland State University in the International Studies Program, with a regional focus on Latin America. As a student there, he was a Peer Mentor in the University Studies Program, where he had the opportunity to work with students from all corners of the globe. These experiences led him to a Master’s program in adult education, where his work focused on reimagining the ESL classroom with a focus on storytelling. Joe has been a volunteer ESL tutor and an after-school tutor in a NE Portland immigrant community. He has lived in Italy (as an exchange student), and has visited Spain and the UK. These experiences inform his desire to work in support of Clark’s international students.
