Academic Early Warning (AEW)

AEW is a resource that enables instructors to communicate with their students about any behaviors that are interfering with the student's success in their class.

Each week during the AEW reporting periods of weeks 3-7, instructors are able to send emails to their students about their concerns with regard to course assignments, attendance, poor test scores, and other issues that may lead students to be unsuccessful in completing their classes.

After the emails are sent, Clark College staff and peer mentors contact students by phone, via email, and schedule appointments to connect students with resources on campus, and to assist with identifying strategies for improvement. This outreach takes place between weeks 4 and 8.
