Waitlist Procedures

The waitlist process assists students who want to enroll in classes that currently don't have seats available.  Students may place themselves on a waitlist online when they register for classes.  Students may also ask to be placed on a waitlist when they register in person.  As open seats become available, students from the waitlist will be enrolled into the class in the order they appear on the waitlist.

Common Questions:

Q:  How will I know that I am enrolled in a class I am on the waitlist for?

A:  Please check your waitlist status online to determine if you have been enrolled using the Waitlist Status link on the left.  It is important to remove your name from the waitlist for a class that you no longer wish to be enrolled in.

If you are enrolled into a class that you do not wish to be enrolled in through the waitlist process and do not withdraw prior to the refund deadline, you will be responsible for the tuition you or other agencies, including Financial Aid, paid on your behalf.

The Registration office will mail you a confirmation if you are enrolled into a class you are waitlisted for.  However, it may take several days for the confirmation to reach you via the mail.  If you have not received a confirmation from the Registration office prior to the first day of class, you should continue to check your status online through the morning of the 3rd day of the quarter.

Q:  When does the waitlist process end?

A:  The process to enroll students into available seats will run through the 2nd day of the quarter.  Please continue to check your enrollment status through the morning of the 3rd day of the quarter.

Q:  Should I attend a class the first day if I am not yet enrolled?

A:  If you are on a waitlist for a class, you should attend the class so that you do not miss any content until you determine if you will be added to the class.

Q:  How does the waitlist work for eLearning classes?

A:  If you are on a waitlist for a eLearning class, you will not be able to attend the class until you are officially enrolled.  Please contine to check your enrollment status through the morning of the 3rd day of the quarter.  Once you are enrolled, you should send an e-mail to your instructor and participate in the first week's online discussion.

Q:  What happens after the waitlist process ends?

A1:  After the waitlist process ends, instructor's written consent is required to enroll.

A2:  For students enrolled in a eLearning class, you may contact the instructor via phone or e-mail to request permission to register for the class.  If permission is granted, the instructor will e-mail the Registration office and the student informing them of the decision.

Q:  What if I still need a class to fill my schedule?

A:  Students not enrolled through the waitlist process may visit the Advising Center for assistance in choosing another class.
