WorkFirst Programs

Financial assistance is available to TANF and former TANF parents for job-related education and training.

Clark College has programs designed to help you keep a job or get a better one! Take a look at these options.


Free Tuition Program

The Free Tuition program gives TANF and former TANF parents access to training to increase their opportunities for better employment and earnings.

  • Are you on TANF? OR
  • Have you been on TANF within the last 24 months, AND
    • Are you currently employed?
    • Do you have children that you are financially responsible for?

If you answered yes to these questions, you could qualify for free tuition and books if you:

  • Need classes to upgrade skills
  • Want to start a vocational degree program
  • Are not yet eligible for financial aid
  • Have other financial resources, but not enough to cover the cost of tuition, fees and books

Income Limits
You must be on TANF or in paid employment, and have an average gross monthly income below 175% of the Federal poverty level. This includes paid income and all other income for the family.

WorkFirst Work Study

WorkFirst (TANF) students who need work activity to meet their WorkFirst Participation requirements. WorkFirst Work study subsidized paid employment not to exceed 17 hours per week, and is limited to a maximum of 4 quarters.
