Work Study and Institutional Hire Position Guidelines
To apply for work study positions, you must have a work
study award as part of your financial aid package.

Complete the Work
Study/Institutional Hire Application forms are available at the Employment
Services Office, there you will need to complete the following forms:
Application, W-4, a Drug Free Workplace form, and a Form I-9.

or the job bulletin boards in the hallway outside Employment Services
Gaiser Hall room 204. Consider positions related to your major and/or
career interest. It is your responsibility to read the job requirements
thoroughly and apply only for those positions for which you have
the necessary skills.

Write down the job number of the position(s) in which you are interested.
Then go to the Employment Services office and request a referral
to those jobs. You can be provided up to three (3) referrals at
one time. It is your responsibility to follow through and make sure
all paperwork and procedures are complete and you must not work
until you have done so.

It
is important that you and your supervisor monitor your hours so
as not to exceed the budget of your overall award.
- State
Work Study-On and Off-Campus
You may not exceed 17 hours per week and cannot work during your
scheduled class hours. You will be required to keep a time sheet
for all hours worked that will need to be signed by both you and
your employer.
- Federal Work
Study-On-Campus and
Institutional Hire-On-Campus
You may not exceed 17 hours per week and cannot work during your
scheduled class hours. You will be required to keep a time sheet
for all hours worked, be sure to sign and turn it in to your supervisor
on the 16th of each month. Weekend or holiday hours will not be
paid without being initialed by your supervisor and are paid at
your regular hourly rate. Late or incomplete time sheets (unless
corrected immediately) cannot be paid until the next scheduled
pay period.
