DENTAL HYGIENE |
BACHELOR DEGREE IN DENTAL HYGIENEProgram graduates from the Clark College Dental Hygiene program may transfer directly into a baccalaureate program offered on the Clark College campus by Eastern Washington University. Clark College provides the facility for the program and Eastern Washington University administers the program and grants the baccalaureate degree.Because students in this program are licensed dental hygienists there is no clinical component to the curriculum. Instead the curriculum emphasizes the interrelated roles of the dental hygienist as client advocate, educator, researcher, change agent, and dental hygiene administrator/manager. Baccalaureate study in this program includes theory and practice in the interrelated roles with the use of processes and theoretical frameworks. With this broad, generalist perspective, the dental hygiene practitioner is in an excellent position to move into entry-level managerial, research and advocacy roles as well as to adapt to new roles necessitated by an ever-changing environ-ment. If you have any questions about this program, contact the program director, Brenda Knutson, at (360) 992-2528. | |
