| How do I change
my password for my UNIX account? |

At the UNIX prompt type in "passwd".
You will be asked for your original password.

After you type in your password it will ask for
a new password. Type in the new password you would like, then you
will be asked to re-enter your new password, this is to insure your
new password is correct. Do not write your new password down.

bootable Virus Scan Disk? |
Format a floppy disk as a System disk (a bootable disk):
- At the c: prompt type format a:/s {enter} (system transferred)
- Change directory: c:\cd mcafee\viruscan95
- Type in the following commands:
- Copy Scan.exe a:
- Copy Scan.dat a:
- Copy Names.dat a:
- Copy Clean.dat a:
- Make sure all files have been copied. (Type dir)
- Reboot your system with disk in floppy drive.
- Type Scan C: or Type Scan? for help
You may also bring floppy disks to the Helpdesk to scan for viruses.

Using Windows 3.1:
Using Windows 95:
- Start Button
- Select Programs
- Select Accessories
- Select Hyperterminal
- Type for name "Clark"
- Select Icon
- Click OK
- Type Phone Number 696-6633
- Click OK
- Select Modify
- Select Settings
- Select Emulation: VT100
- Click OK
- Click on Dial
- If you get a blinking cursor, hit enter.
NOTE: If you are a CSCI or CSA student and your
UNIX account is on the cs server, type "csdialin" as your
username to get to the cs server login prompt. This should connect to
the UNIX Prompt.
