International Studies - Registering for Classes

Current Students
Registration dates are listed in each quarterly class schedule. Class schedules are usually available six weeks before the beginning of the next quarter. Registration usually begins about one month prior to the beginning of the quarter. Registration priority is given to returning students based on the number of credits they have completed. Your registration appointment will be posted for you to access through the college’s on-line services website about two months before the start of the quarter. You may not register before your appointment time, but you may register any time after the appointment until the last day to register. Tuition and fees must be paid within ten days of registration. If you register within the ten days before the start of the quarter, your tuition is due immediately.

International students must have the approval of Susan Taylor (in the Office of International Programs) or Karen Matz (in the Advising Office in Gaiser Hall) before registering. As soon as the schedule for the upcoming quarter is available, please make an appointment to see one of them for assistance in determining the appropriate classes needed to complete your desired goals on time. When you meet with them, you should have an idea about the classes you would like to register for. Your discussion may also include:

  • reviewing your grades and academic strengths or difficulties;
  • Checking your progress toward the degree or certificate you are pursuing;
  • Selecting the classes you will take during the upcoming quarter;
  • Reviewing health insurance, sponsorship if applicable, I-20 completion date, and other documents to be sure they are currently correct.

You can register online for classes.

New Students
Upon arrival at Clark College, all international students are required to complete a language assessment before registering for any Clark College classes. Students needing additional English instruction will be placed in the appropriate classes.

After taking your assessment test, please see your International Student Advisor.
