International Studies - Preparing to Graduate

Current Students
Students must submit an application for completion. Degrees and Certificates are not automatically awarded. Degree application must be made no later than the tenth day of the quarter of expected degree completion. Specific dates are published in the quarterly class schedules.

Applications received after the deadline will automatically be processed for the following quarter, unless a petition of exception is approved. All degrees and certificates are sent by mail approximately four (4) weeks following the end of the application quarter.

Late Applications
Students who miss the application deadline may petition for late acceptance. The petition should be submitted with the graduation application.

Please come to the Office of International Programs for the appropriate application forms.

International students must also have the approval of Susan Taylor (in the Office of International Programs) or Karen Matz (in the Advising Office in Gaiser Hall) before graduating. As soon as you know you plan to graduate, please make an appointment to see one of them for assistance in determining whether you have met your desired goals. When you meet with them, you should have an idea about your goals for the future. Your discussion may include:

  • Discussing your OPT or CPT options for continued work experience in the U.S.;
  • Planning to transfer to a four-year university;
  • Evaluating your experience at Clark College;
  • Reviewing your I-20 completion date and other documents to be sure they are currently correct.
