Updating your email address in Blackboard
It is very important that you have a valid email address associated with your Blackboard account, as this is the address where you will receive email from your instructor. You are welcome to use any valid email address that you currently have, or you may choose to activate the free email account that is provided with new Blackboard accounts by default. The accounts are provided by Gmail (Google) and must be activated in order to work. Please click on the link below and follow the activation instructions if you wish to use the college provided Gmail account with your Blackboard account:

Should you choose to use the Clark provided Gmail account, your do not need to change your email address in Blackboard because the Gmail address has been automatically entered as your default email address; you just need to activate the Gmail account. However, should you choose to use a different email account for communication with your Clark instructor(s), you must update your email information in Blackboard as follows:
After you have logged into Blackboard, select Personal Information, located under Tools on the left side of the screen.

Then select Edit Personal Information.

Input your preferred email address in the appropriate field, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.
Even if you choose not to use your Gmail account in Blackboard, it is still recommended that you activate your college provided Gmail account as it is the way Clark College will send you important information and alerts.
