Dean for Planning and Advancement
As Executive Dean for Planning and Advancement, Candy
Bennett is responsible for college strategic planning activities, institutional
research, grants development, legislative relations and college advancement. Along with the President, she serves in a liaison role with the Clark
College Foundation.
She joined Clark College in 1988 as Acting Director of Women's Programs. She has held a variety of leadership positions within the college in the areas of Assessment, Special Projects, Workforce Development, Institutional Effectiveness and Research and Planning. She assumed her current position in 2003.
She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Washington and earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Whitworth College.
Her educational experience in Washington State also includes positions as a counselor at Spokane Falls Community College, Coordinator of Business/Education Partnerships for Educational Service District 112 in Vancouver and Assistant Dean of Women at the University of Washington. In addition, she served as a Research Analyst for the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges in Olympia.
Bennett feels that “It is truly a privilege to be able to guide a strategic planning process that builds on the contributions of so many outstanding individuals in our college community.”
