Clark College prepares to welcome students to winter quarter 2013 –
including some taking The Next Step from Town Plaza to the college’s main campus

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Clark College will ring in 2013 by welcoming basic education students to its main campus.

Those programs, which were previously offered at Town Plaza, will have a new home in the “T” Building on the west side of Fort Vancouver Way when winter quarter opens on Jan. 7.  Classes will be offered in the space which formerly housed Clark’s Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) department, which is now located in the West Coast Bank Building, 500 Broadway, Vancouver.

Clark College Director of Basic Education Larry Ruddell said, “This move will give our students more access to college resources and new pathways to success.  That’s very exciting.”  Nearly 1,400 students took basic education classes at Clark College in fall 2012.

On Thursday, Jan. 17, President Robert K. Knight will present the 2013 State of the College Address at 11 a.m. in the Gaiser Student Center.  Following the address, guests will be invited to tour the new basic education site.  Travel directions and parking maps are available at www.clark.edu/maps.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, Clark College was the largest single-campus provider of for-credit classes in Washington’s community and technical college system.  In fall 2012, Clark welcomed more than 15,100 students.

Through all of its programs, Clark College supports learning for more than 26,000 residents of Southwest Washington each year.
