NEXT STEP – LITERALLY.

Author Seabury Blair, Jr. mountain climbing

Author Seabury Blair, Jr. will visit the Clark College Bookstore on Wednesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Author Seabury Blair, Jr.VANCOUVER, Wash. – Seabury Blair Jr., author of Day Hike! Olympic Peninsula and Day Hike! Columbia Gorge, will visit the Clark College Bookstore on Wednesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Blair, the respected longtime outdoors writer for the Bremerton Sun, will discuss hiking and will sign copies of his books.

As one critic noted, “Most hiking guides are written by backpackers who occasionally day hike. But most people are day hikers who occasionally backpack!...These guides are written for people who want to get out and sample the vaunted Northwest lifestyle with as little hassle and unpredictability as possible. Yet the fresh style, content, and design will also win sales and loyalty from more experienced hikers. Organizing the books in the way that people travel -- by major roads and highways -- makes itDay Hike Olympic Peninsula Book Cover easier to find trails without having to cross-reference three or four different guides.”

A reader observed, “I've known Seabury for over 30 years....I think he's right up there as an Outdoors Dave Berry, except Dave Berry has two sets of pillows on his bed and never goes outside. So, really, Seabury is the Dave Berry of the Great Northwest.”

Blair’s visit is free and open the public.  Clark College is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way.  Easy access bookstore parking is available in the college’s red and green lots.
