More Sunny Study Space |
|
Laptops and books happily co-exist in the newly re-arranged space in Periodicals. As more of our journals and magazines are available electronically, we've downsized our print Periodicals collection, removed some shelving .... and voila! ... more room to study by the sunny south windows on the first floor.

 |
Aaron Jones takes advantage of a quiet corner by the south windows to work on his personal literary project, River.

 |
Though it might seem everything's available online, there are still some amazing items that can only be found in paper form, in the library's Periodicals collection on the first floor.
Take a trip in the Wayback Machine by browsing through colorful past issues of Life magazine ... starting in 1936.

| Diamond Jubilee Display |
|
Cannell Library is the home to a display case of historic Clark College items and memorabilia. Each month throughout the Diamond Jubilee year celebrating Clark's 75th Anniversary, the display case will focus on a different decade of the college's history.
During February, the focus is on the 1970s. Newspaper photos and articles make up the bulk of the display, including:
- Photo of "Clark's first woman auto mechanics major, Dena Bragher."
- "Twenty dollars for a textbook?" the freshman student exploded. "What a rip-off!" (October 1978 Columbian article)
The display schedule for the remainder of the year is: March (1980s), April (1990s) and May (2000s).
