Clark provides parking for nearly 2,400 student vehicles at our main campus. Students are not required to purchase a permit to park at college facilities. Parking lots are located on the east and west sides of Fort Vancouver Way north of McLoughlin Blvd.
A helpful reminder: The first few weeks of each quarter are particularly busy. Students -- especially new students -- are encouraged to arrive early to ensure that they have time to park and get to class. Students tell us that spaces are usually available in the silver parking lot, located just west of our athletics fields.
Student parking at the main campus doesn’t require a permit. Students may park in unmarked spaces. Spaces marked “F/S” are reserved for faculty and staff with permits. (They are open to everyone from 5:30-10:00 p.m.) Complete parking regulations are available at the Security Office in Gaiser Hall.
During the summer of 2011, the college added 58 new parking spaces in the silver parking lot. The “Star” building on the west side of Fort Vancouver Way was demolished in fall 2011. That will ultimately be the site of Clark's new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) building. Until then, the college will use that space to provide nearly 100 additional parking spots. Those spaces are scheduled to be available early in winter quarter 2012.
Additionally, based on recommendation from students, 28 new parking meters have been installed in the Green 1, Red 3, and Orange 1 parking lots. Based on traffic flow, those were identified as areas where additional short-term parking options would benefit students, faculty and staff.
Ample parking is also available at Clark College at Columbia Tech Center. Parking at off-campus sites -- including WSU Vancouver -- is administered by the operators of those facilities.
Bike Racks
Bike racks and bike shelters are available across the main campus. Bike racks are available at Clark College at Columbia Tech Center.
With more people riding bikes to classes and to work, it's important for riders and drivers to extend courtesy and use caution when traveling.
Carpools (ride share)
Six student carpool spots are available -- Monday through Friday -- from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- in Red Parking Lot #2. Carpools must include two or more people. There is no cost to acquire a carpool parking tag, but students must register at the Security Office in Gaiser Hall and all of the students participating in the carpool must be present to register. Carpool parking spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Crosswalks: A big change on Fort Vancouver Way
A new “high-intensity activated crosswalk ” has been installed on Fort Vancouver Way near the Clark College Welcome Center. It's the first of its kind in Vancouver and was put in place to do better job of alerting drivers than the traditional yellow-light crossing signal. It combines a red signal beacon and signs.
The goal is simple: keeping pedestrians and drivers safe.

If you're driving:
- Yellow means proceed with caution
- Solid red means stop.
- Flashing red means stop, then proceed when it's safe and clear.
If you're crossing the street:
- You will no longer be able to press a button and immediately step into the crosswalk.
- Follow the "Walk" and "Don't Walk" signs.
How it works:
When pedestrians press a button, the signal moves through the following steps:
- First, the overhead beacon’s flashing yellow light changes to a solid yellow light.
- Then, the light changes to a solid red, requiring drivers to come to a complete stop.
- Next, a flashing “Don’t Walk” symbol is displayed to pedestrians, while drivers see a flashing red signal indicating they may proceed with caution.
- Finally, the pedestrian beacon becomes dark and remains that way until activated again. Drivers are not required to stop when the beacon is dark.

C-TRAN and C-VAN
C-TRAN service is available to our main campus, Clark College at Columbia Tech Center, Clark College at Town Plaza, and Clark College at WSU Vancouver.
Clark College students may purchase a C-TRAN bus pass endorsement with their student ID card at a special rate. This BackPASS endorsement provides free bus transportation throughout Clark County. Passes are sold through the Cashier’s Office and the Clark College Bookstore.
